[edit] Saving tab-separated files from OpenOffice Calc

To save a tab-separated file (e.g. for the Amazon tab-separated format), please follow these instructions:

  • Open your spreadsheet in OpenOffice Calc
  • Select the menu item File->Save As...
  • Choose Text CSV as the format
  • Select Edit the filter settings checkbox
  • Click Save
  • Choose UTF-8 as the character set, {Tab} as the Field delimiter and quotes (") as the Text delimiter
  • Click Ok

Your file is now saved.
