Important Notes about EBay
- The minimum price an item can be listed for is $0.99
- "Used Ex-library books" can not have a condition higher than "Good".
- If an item you list is in eBay's catalog, item-specific data from the catalog will appear at the top of the item. This is called "item-specifics" and "listing catalog items" on eBay. Your information for the listing will be displayed below this data.
- Supports Catalog (books with isbn) and non-Catalog.
- EBay Store Fees
- EBay Fixed Price Fees
FillZ-specific Notes
- FillZ can list in eBay Stores, or Fixed Price
- We connect to eBay through a token (as do all third party solutions). The token must be reactivated every 15 months - we will email you a reminder. If you change your password, you will need to re-activate your token. You can re-activate your token on the Settings->Marketplaces->Configuration for eBay page by clicking "Reactivate Link" at the bottom of the page. Please note that your eBay token will affect the Half.com account that is associated with your eBay account.
- To offer free shipping for a category, place a 0 in the "Shipping" box on the Configuration for eBay page in FillZ. Note that free shipping is only available for domestic shipments.
- Items cannot be placed in Store Categories that have 2nd level categories inside. If you wish to have a "catch-all" for such items, create an "Other" sub-category. For example if you have Books:Non-Fiction:Art and Books:Non-Fiction:Games, consider having a Books:Non-Fiction:Other category.
- Currently we use the defaulted Amazon information and don't send "Additional Attributes" to eBay. You can add pertinent information to your Item Notes.
- You can over-write a title if the default isn't correct on the Single item listing page or if you click on an existing sku to edit it.
- Ebay Glossary of Terms
- User must have shipping amounts entered for type (ie Video/DVD,Music,book) on their eBay settings so we can send as "immediate payment" . If shipping is not specified, we can't send it as "immediate payment" so we send it regular (shipping and total to be specified by seller).
- Some global categories require a domestic shipping option to be specified. (most media)
- The FillZ shipping settings for additional items only apply when there is quantity greater than 1 for the *same* item (we do not support combined shipping).
- We never touch listings that we did not create on eBay. Items listed through other third-party tools do not interact in any way with our items. This means that items may be duplicated if they are listed through us and through another tool.
- Listings that are created by FillZ will have a FillZ logo at the bottom of each listing.
- FillZ can retrieve orders for Fixed Price and Store items. We don't retrieve orders for auction items.
- FillZ does not confirm orders on eBay, as this is optional and not required on eBay.
- Image URL's are sent when a listing is new to FillZ, or when an Update All is performed. Images added to existing listings will require an Update All to be sent to eBay.
Configuring and activating eBay
You can use FillZ to list items in eBay Stores, or to list Fixed Price items.
- To begin activation, please click "Settings" -> "Marketplaces" -> "Configuration for eBay."
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Activate link with eBay." This will prompt you to log into your eBay account.
- After logging into your eBay account you will see a page that requests your consent to share your eBay data with FillZ so we can connect to your account. Click on "I agree".
- You will then see a note about the activation being complete. Click on the word "eBay" near the bottom of the note to be directed back to the "Configuration for eBay page".
- Populate the Shipping rates section (do not go over eBay's maximum shipping costs), and be sure to specify a Maximum Dispatch Time.
- Fill out the Inventory Filtering field (even if it's 0.99 for the minimum price).
- You must also fill out the information in the Payment section as well as the Return Policy section.
- Under the header "Other Item Preferences" you must select either eBay Stores or Fixed Price (the default is eBay Stores).
- The other fields on the page are optional, fill them in if you would like.
- When you have finished, click "Save" at the bottom of the page.
- Next, scroll to the top of the page and click on "Back to List".
- Click on "Activate" under Configuration for eBay.
- Click on "Confirm Activate and Re-filter for EBay."
Notes:
- Please ensure that your feedback profile is NOT set to private.
- We are currently only integrated with eBay.com. We don't offer full support for International eBay accounts. Sellers who list on eBay.co.uk through FillZ, for example, will appear as if they are selling from the US by default. You can change this in FillZ by clicking on Settings in the black bar across the top of the page and by changing the drop down under the header "Export" to the correct country.
Purge/Update All info
You can not purge and replace for eBay on the Settings->Marketplaces page as that would close your listings and re-open them, and you would incur insertion fees. Instead, we offer these two options:
Re-filter - Clicking this button and confirming adds and deletes items based on your filter settings. This button will not modify items. This is used when the filter parameters are changed. It can also be used to delete all of your items by setting the filter price high such as 99999, while leaving the salesrank filter box empty.
Update all - Clicking this button and confirming sends an update for each item that is currently listed on eBay. Anytime you make changes on the eBay Configuation page, you will be asked to Update-all. Most of the time this function does not incur eBay fees.
- A listing cannot be revised if a sale already occurred (you have multiple copies of an item, one sold and you are trying to change a listing with remaining copies). In this case, the listings will be closed and reopened and you will be charged listings fees.
- The duration of a listing can't be revised. If you change your listings from "Good until Cancelled" to "30 Day" or vice-versa and click "Update All", all of your items will be closed and re-opened and you will be charged listing fees.
How to Close and Reopen All Listings
If you wish to close and re-open all listings (ie. if you want to switch durations, or switch between Fixed Price/eBay Stores), please follow this procedure in your FillZ account. You will incur listing fees.

- If switching between Fixed Price/eBay Stores, under the header "Other Item Preferences" you must select either eBay Stores or Fixed Price.
- Click "Save" at the bottom of the page.
- Go back to Settings->Marketplaces and click on Re-filter under "Configuration for eBay", and then click to confirm.

eBay Store Categories
To use eBay categories through FillZ you need configure browsepaths:
- Go to "Settings"->"Marketplaces"->"Configuration for eBay" and fill in the boxes for "Category mapping based on Browse Path". If you need help, there is a help bubble that will walk you through it.
You will also need to update the individual listings with the corresponding browse paths.
- Example in eBay Configuration page:
| If Browsepath starts with:
| Use this category #:
|
| Record Album
| 123456
|
| DVD:Comedy
| 1223457
|
- You would then need to add "Record Album" in the browsepath field for your listing. For more information, please click here
Global Categories
EBay automatically places items matched to their catalog into the appropriate category. If your item does not exist in their catalog, FillZ will send the category number you provide. Should you not provide one, a default will be used based on your item type.
FillZ can set the global category of an item when the item is added(created) on eBay. You will not be able to update the global category of an item that has already been listed by FillZ on eBay. You will need to close the listing (make sure that the listing has ended on eBay) and reactivate it for FillZ to send the updated category. Please note that this is only available for items that do not exist in eBay's catalog.
To find a category number on eBay, go to http://www.ebay.com/ and click on Categories, then go down the catalog tree until you find the category you're looking for. The category number will be in the URL at the top of your browser page.
I want the category number for Fantasy Books.
I go to eBay and click on Categories, then Books then Fantasy. The URL at the top of the page is
http://books.shop.ebay.com/Fiction-Books-/377/i.html?Category=Fantasy&_dmpt=US_Fiction_Books.
The category number is therefore 377.
